Connecticut is awarding more than $15 million in state grants to protect 2,270 acres of open space and create six new green spaces. The funds come through the Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition and Urban Green grant programs. $63,000 of it will help restore parts of 722-acre Tarrywile Park in Danbury through a project led by Friends of Tarrywile Park. The plan includes a new community garden, improved green space, and features like public art, seating, fencing, and rainwater systems.
