Bethel Drive In Restaurant Closes After 78 Years
A longtime Bethel landmark is now closed. The Sycamore Drive In shut its doors on Christmas Eve after 78 years in business. The Austin family, which owned the restaurant for nearly three decades, says the lease was not renewed. The drive in was known for its 1950s style, car hop service, and homemade root beer.
