Danbury Student Concerto Competition Offers Cash Prize

Aggressive Coyote Killed After Biting Ridgefield Resident

In Ridgefield, an animal control officer has tracked down and killed an aggressive coyote that bit a local resident last weekend. Ridgefield Police say the animal had multiple reports of aggressive behavior, and now they remind residents that coyote activity increases during mating season, which runs from now through March.

Verizon Offers Credit After Nationwide Network Outage

Did you lose your cell phone service on Wednesday. Tens of thousands did, and now Verizon says it will issue a 20 dollar credit to customers affected by a nationwide network outage. The company says credits can be claimed through the myVerizon app. Verizon has not disclosed the cause of the outage.

Newtown Superintendent Proposes $96 Million School Budget Increase

Former Ridgefield Hardware Worker Charged With Theft

A Ridgefield man is facing a first-degree larceny charge after police say he stole more than $20,000 in merchandise from Ridgefield Hardware. Investigators say surveillance video shows 48 year old Michael Pelkey taking items over several months while employed at the store. Pelkey was arrested on a warrant, and has pleaded not guilty.
