Large Industrial Project Proposed in Danbury

A 120-thousand-square-foot light industrial building is proposed at Berkshire Corporate Park near Danbury neighborhoods on Sunrise Road and Pocono Lane. The project would include 219 parking spaces and needs wetlands approval because part of the lot would extend into a protected stream buffer.

Police Seek Suspects in New Milford Spa Robbery

New Milford police are asking for help identifying two suspects in a robbery at a Day Spa on Danbury Road. Anyone who believes they may know either person or has information about the case is asked to contact the New Milford Police Department.

CVS Begins Filling Pet Prescriptions

CVS pharmacies across Connecticut are now filling many common prescriptions for cats and dogs. Available medications include antibiotics, insulin, pain relievers and flea and tick treatments. Pet owners can bring in a written prescription or have their veterinarian send it directly to CVS.

Connecticut Expands Click-to-Cancel Rules

Connecticut businesses with automatically renewing contracts must now send annual reminders and offer easier cancellation options. Customers can cancel online, by email or by phone, depending on the business. Companies must also process valid voicemail cancellation requests within one business day.

Bridgewater Country Fair Returns in August

The 73rd annual Bridgewater Country Fair will run August 21 through August 23 at the Bridgewater Fair Grounds. The fire department fundraiser will feature rides, livestock shows, contests, live entertainment and food. Admission is 10 dollars for adults, with children 12 and younger admitted free.

Danbury Man Dies After Newtown Crash

A Danbury man has died following a single-car crash on Mount Pleasant Hill Road in Newtown. Police say Richard Aronson’s vehicle left the road, traveled down a steep embankment and landed in the woods. He was taken to Danbury Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Connecticut Opens Paraeducator Preparation Academy

Registration is open for Connecticut’s new Paraeducator Preparation Academy. The free six-week program offers exam preparation, mentoring, study materials and Spanish-language support for people seeking special education jobs. The first session begins August 17 with more planned this fall.
