New Milford Ice Cream Shop Fights Sign Rules
The owner of Jesse’s Ice Cream in New Milford is asking to keep three illuminated window signs and patio lights that violate town regulations. Jesse Pruchnik says the lights improve safety around the recessed entrance. Zoning officials say the rules protect the historic village center from glare and inconsistent signs.

37 year old Jose Bautista Soto died after his motorcycle struck the rear of a car Sunday night on Interstate 95 South near the Fairfield rest area. State police say he was thrown from the motorcycle and later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

17 year old Max Fehring of Ridgefield died Saturday morning in a crash on Wilton Road West. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene. Fehring attended Immaculate High School in Danbury, which held a chapel service in his memory Monday.

86 year old Richard Aronson of Danbury has died following a crash that happened last Tuesday in Newtown. Police say his car went off Mount Pleasant Hill Road and down a steep embankment. Aronson was a former Danbury High School band director and later led arts programs in Darien schools.

Connecticut has started a one-point-six-billion-dollar project aimed at making The New Haven Line service faster and more reliable. The first phase covers three miles between Bridgeport and Stratford. When all three phases are finished in 2035, some trains could reach 90 miles per hour and trips to New York could be about 25 minutes shorter.
