Teen Killed by Metro-North Train
A 16 year old boy was struck and killed by a Metro-North train south of the Merritt 7 Station Wednesday night. Police say three people were on the tracks without authorization. A 17 year old and a 20 year old were charged with trespassing.

Police are searching for suspects who broke into Connecticut’s Nathan Hale Homestead. Authorities say cash and other items were stolen from the historic house and nearby barns, while appliances and other equipment were stripped for parts. Surveillance cameras captured at least one suspect.

Connecticut’s minimum wage will increase by 54 cents to $17.48 an hour on January 1. The annual adjustment is required under a state law linking the rate to federal employment cost data. The current minimum wage is $16.94 an hour.

Residents can also learn how to respond safely during a bear encounter.
