Danbury San Gennaro Festival Continues Through Sunday
Danbury’s fifth annual San Gennaro Festival continues through Sunday at 1 Ives Street downtown. The free celebration features Italian food, live music, games and entertainment, with fireworks planned Saturday night. Events continue each day through the weekend.

40 year old Andrey Uryadov of New Milford was killed last Friday in a motorcycle crash in Albany, New Hampshire. Authorities say his motorcycle left the road and struck a tree. Uryadov was an associate hockey coach at Canterbury School and was preparing to become head coach this season.

Newtown’s volunteer Underwater Search and Rescue team recovered a missing wedding band near Saugatuck Falls in West Redding. The ring, which had belonged to the owner’s father, was found after about 10 minutes of searching in water up to 25 feet deep.

Four Region 12 school administrators remain on leave while an independent investigation looks into alleged inappropriate text messages. An anonymous complaint included a screenshot of a group chat containing sexual comments and laughing emojis. The Board of Education says placing the administrators on leave is not a finding of wrongdoing.

Brookfield Parks and Recreation and the Arts Commission will present “Sunset Jazz at the Beach” Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brookfield Town Beach. The Barbara Bock Quintet featuring Gary Blu will perform, with food and drinks available for purchase. The rain date is August 30.
