New York State Police say a Honda CR-V driven by 74 year old Eleana S. Silk of Carmel crossed into the westbound lane Tuesday morning and struck a 2023 Freightliner truck head-on on Route 312 in Southeast. Silk was pronounced dead at the scene. The 57 year old truck driver from New Fairfield was not injured. Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
