New drivers here in Connecticut must now complete a free online work zone safety course before getting a learner’s permit. The requirement, signed into law last year, is aimed at reducing crashes in construction zones and protecting highway workers. State officials say the training will also be mandatory for drivers convicted of endangering road crews.
