Fazio Says Plan Would Cut Connecticut Electric Bills 20%

Ryan Fazio, a Republican candidate for governor, unveiled a proposal Monday he says would cut electric bills statewide by 20 percent. Fazio says the savings would come from eliminating public benefits charges, ending costly wind and solar subsidies, and pushing to expand natural gas supply into Connecticut. Fazio blames current policies under Ned Lamont for driving rates higher. The plan also calls for dropping regional climate programs and fast-tracking more reliable power sources, including natural gas and nuclear.
