Danbury Board Backs $175M School Budget Proposal

The Danbury Board of Education has unanimously approved a proposed $175 million school budget for the 2026–27 year. The plan represents a $2.99 million increase, about 1.75 percent, over the current budget. School officials refer to it as a tight spending plan that relies on reserves, grants, and savings to limit the increase. The budget now moves to the mayor for inclusion in the city’s overall spending plan.
