Danbury Approves Zoning Change for Warehouse Reuse

Danbury’s Zoning Commission has approved a narrowly tailored zone change allowing a vacant warehouse at Salame Plaza to be converted into self-storage. City officials said the 1950s-era building is outdated and difficult to lease, and the change gives a family-owned business a viable reuse option. Supporters called it a practical fix, despite concerns about expanding self-storage after similar uses were banned elsewhere.
