Danbury police say they’re seeing a recent increase in car thefts across the city and are stepping up patrols while investigators work the cases. Police say many of the thefts are crimes of opportunity, urging residents to lock doors, keep valuables out of sight, and park in well-lit areas when possible. Police also want any nearby security or doorbell camera video shared, and ask people to report suspicious activity right away.
