Everyone who has been staying at a homeless shelter in Danbury, will have to leave by today. The 20 or so homeless individuals who have been living at the former Super 8 motel property will be moved today to a newly acquired city property with a 20-bed shelter elsewhere. According to a neighborhood group, since it was turned into a homeless shelter, the property including the motel and the surrounding area have both experienced trespassing, drug use, drug dealing, panhandling, public intoxication, crisis interventions, drug overdoses, assaults, sexual assaults, domestic disturbances, breach of peace, fights, and EMS and police calls.
