A former tax preparer now living in Florida is headed to prison after she was sentenced in Federal Court here in Connecticut. 34 year old KEYANTE PAUL was sentenced to 12 months and one day behind bars, followed by one year of supervised release, for preparing false tax returns for numerous clients.Prosecutors said Paul, through her business Keys Tax Services, operated as a tax return preparer. They say she traveled to Connecticut for part of the year to prepare returns for Connecticut clients that included false income “adjustments.” Paul’s criminal conduct caused losses totaling more than $550,000 to the U.S. Treasury and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.
