Ridgefield Plan Hits Rocky Road

In Ridgefield, a controversial housing plan for Abbott Avenue remains no closer to resolution… despite months of debate. The plan calls for a single-family home that sits on a half acre lot at 27 Abbott Avenue to be torn down to make way for a new 14-unit townhouse complex. The current house was built in 1951. A meeting of the Inland Wetlands Board turned into a very heated three-and-a-half-hour discussion. That led to the public hearing on the proposed development to be extended to 7 p.m. September 14th. Board members will then have 35 days after that public hearing to make a final decision.
