A group of teenagers in Ridgefield is now pushing for limits on gas-powered leaf blowers… claiming that among their favorite things to do on Sunday mornings is to sleep in. They say they can’t do that because all too often they are awakened by the loud noise of leaf blowers outside their windows. The teens… along with some adult volunteers… are now busy, trying to collect hundreds of signatures for a petition that would limit the use of gas-powered leaf blowers to six-week spring and six-week fall cleanup seasons and in emergency situations such as hurricanes or high windstorm events.
