Much like price increases we are seeing on just about all everyday items across the board these days, customers of Eversource and United Illuminating will likely see a jump in their electric bills this winter… that according to filings made Friday to the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority. If the raises are approved, Eversource’s standard service customers would pay 14.7 cents per kilowatt hour… slightly higher than the 13.8 cents per kilowatt hour they are paying now. It would translate into a $6 per month increase. United Illuminating standard service customers would see their rate increase to 17.06 cents per kilowatt hour from the current 14.33 cents… meaning a $19.31 cent per month increase.
