There is a new push in the state capitol to increase the minimum wage for tipped workers here in Connecticut. If it becomes law, it would increase the pay for about 110,000 Connecticut workers who rely on tips for their income. A similar bill died last year without a vote in the House or Senate that would have resulted in restaurant servers, bartenders and others in the hospitality industry joining hundreds of thousands of other workers in getting paid the minimum wage, which is currently $15 an hour and is projected to increase to $15.69 in January.
