On Sunday, Naugatuck Police got a report of a shooting on Round Tree Drive. Officers arrived to discover that the incident was unfounded and what is commonly known as a “swatting call”… a dangerous and illegal practice involving a false report with the intent of deceiving law enforcement and triggering an armed response to a particular address. Police are actively investigating the swatting incident, and they say those responsible will be held accountable. Anyone with information about it is now asked to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
