Former Danbury Postmaster Headed To Prison

Ephrem Nguyen, the former postmaster of the Danbury Post Office, has been sentenced to four years in prison for operating a bribery, kickback, and embezzlement scheme. The U.S. Attorney’s office reports that the 51 year old Nguyen, was sentenced in federal court in Bridgeport on Tuesday. The scheme involved overcharging the USPS for vehicle maintenance and repair, embezzling more than $80,000 from the United States Postal Service by using his work credit cards for personal use, and approving fraudulent travel expense claims.
