In New Milford, the fate of two former schools hangs in the balance. With an estimated $37 million needed for repairs, innovative solutions are being proposed. The historic 50 East St. and John Pettibone Community Center buildings could find new life as an arts center or even housing. An architect has estimated a $12 million renovation cost for the East Street building and $25 million for the Pettibone building.
