Danbury Man Sentenced For Lying About Kidnapping That Never Happened

A Danbury man has been sentenced to two years of probation for falsely claiming he was kidnapped at gunpoint. 39 year old Diego Vizhco   admitted to lying about the incident, which he reported happened at the Stop & Shop parking lot on Newtown Road. Following an investigation, police found no evidence to support his claims. Vizhco pled guilty to second-degree false reporting, receiving a suspended 364-day jail sentence along with probation. The false report stemmed from an altercation involving a car accident, which Vizhco exaggerated, fearing police wouldn’t believe the actual events.
