Southbury firefighters responded to a structure fire on Christmas Eve at a home on Bucks Hill Road Saturday just after 2:30pm. When crews arrived, they were greeted by smoke coming from a detached garage. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames before the fire was able to spread to the main part of the house. Nobody was home when the fire was first reported, but the homeowner arrived shortly after crews got there. Nobody was hurt. There has been no damage estimate so far, and the cause of that fire remains un-determined.
