Slow Down… And Live!

Connecticut officials are urging drivers to slow down and drive safer after the deaths of a state trooper and a DOT worker. Governor Ned Lamont called for more speed cameras and stricter DUI penalties. The recent death of a DOT worker who was struck by a drunk driver, highlights the dangers on the roads. The push for safer driving comes as the state sees a rise in reckless and impaired driving, some referring to it as a new pandemic. There have been 165 fatalities so far this year on state roads, slightly fewer than at this point in 2022, which was one of the state’s deadliest years in decades.
