Danbury Man Arrested By Newtown Police

A Danbury man was arrested Sunday after Newtown police said that he fled from them in a stolen car, crashied it, and then attempted to break into a home. 21 year old Joao Gabril Almeida-Bastos now faces 11 charges including reckless driving, larceny, and burglary. He was arrested with the help of Connecticut State Police and K-9 units. Almeida-Bastos was taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation and is now being held on a $100,000 bond as he awaits arraignment in state Superior Court.
