Property Restoration Ordered

A Danbury homeowner has been ordered to restore wetlands on their Barnum Road property after illegally cutting down trees and filling the area with soil and wood chips. The city’s Environmental Impact Commission has mandated a $26,000 restoration project, which includes removing wood chips, planting trees, and installing boulders to protect the wetlands. The homeowner has one year to complete the restoration, following ten months of negotiations. The property, owned by Mormak LLC, will be monitored to prevent invasive species from colonizing the restored area.
