An important message from Aquarion Water Company… Due to a main break in Aquarion’s Ridgefield Water System, some customers experienced a period of no water or low pressure on Monday. Because of the lack of water pressure, there is a possibility of contamination of the drinking water in Ridgefield today. The Department of Public Health recommends, as a precaution, that customers boil their water before consuming it or use bottled water until it can be confirmed that the water is safe to drink. This precautionary advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Water samples are being collected after the break has been repaired and pressure has been restored to the Ridgefield System, but the results could take as long as 48 hours.
