Sgt. Christopher Grillo has been named Southbury’s first police chief as the town transitions from a resident state trooper system to an independent police force. Grillo, who has served with the Southbury Police Department for 22 years, will be officially installed on August 1. The shift to a local force follows a November referendum and aims to enhance community policing and officer retention.
