A Connecticut man has been found guilty of defrauding Medicaid out of more than $80,000. 56 year old Andrew Golden, a mental health counselor in New Canaan, pleaded no contest to health insurance fraud. As part of his plea deal, Golden received a fully suspended three-year sentence and five years of conditional discharge. He is barred from acting as a Medicaid provider. Golden was arrested last December for billing Medicaid for sessions that never occurred. The investigation revealed that Golden submitted false claims, collecting $80,320 in payments.
