New Details Released After Bethel House Fire

More details today about a weekend fire in Bethel… Firefighters from multiple departments spent about two hours extinguishing the blaze at a 19th-century home on Route 302 in Bethel early Sunday. Emergency personnel were dispatched early Sunday, at 5:45am, to the house on Dodgingtown Road. The fire’s intensity was due to the old-style construction of the home, built around 1830. The house was unoccupied at the time. The Danbury Fire Department, along with crews from Brookfield, Dodgingtown, Hawleyville, Newtown, Stony Hill, and West Redding, all responded. The Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit is now investigating to try to figure out what caused it.
