Bomb threats prompted the evacuation of the Naugatuck Walmart and Stop & Shop on Monday. Police responded to the Walmart on New Haven Road at 3:45pm yesterday after a caller claimed a bomb was set to go off in the bathroom. Bomb detection K-9s found no explosives, and the store reopened by 5pm. Meanwhile, a similar threat targeted Stop & Shop on Rubber Avenue. The store was also evacuated and searched. By 5:45 Stop & Shop was cleared to resume operations. Police continue to investigate both threats.
