Shelton Case Of Fireworks Destruction Continued

A Shelton man has had his case continued after being charged with reckless endangerment and illegal possession of fireworks. 54 year old Stephen Lupkas allegedly stored fireworks in his home, which ignited, causing a massive fire back on June 22. Firefighters struggled to control the blaze as fireworks continued to explode. The fire displaced Lupkas’ family and their dog. Authorities deemed the property a safety hazard and conducted a controlled burn, destroying the home. Lupkas claimed he was training to be a pyrotechnician at the time. His next court date has yet to be scheduled.
