Ridgefield officials are considering converting a former gym at 66 Grove Street into a new home for the town’s alternative high school and transition program. The plan, which involves renting the 11,227-square-foot space, was unanimously supported by the Board of Selectpersons. It will be discussed in a public hearing set for this Thursday (9/12), followed by a town vote on September 25. The alternative high school, currently located at 25 Gilbert Street, has outgrown its space, and proponants believe the new location would better serve the needs of its students, with operations expected to begin in fall 2025 if approved.
