A Danbury man is headed to prison for 10 years after pleading guilty in June to sexually assaulting a child. 47 year old Manuel Guaman-Japa was sentenced to a decade behind bars during a hearing at the state Superior Court in Stamford on Wednesday as a part of an agreement with state prosecutors. That plea deal also included 30 years of probation and lifetime sex offender registration. If Guaman-Japa violates the terms of his probation, he faces up to an additional 10 years in prison. Guaman-Japa was arrested in Februrary 2023.
