Cleanup In Brookfield

Brookfield has received state approval to remediate a contaminated site at 20 Station Road, formerly home to a dry cleaning business. The project will transform the area into 60 apartments, with 12 units designated as affordable housing. It was noted that the state’s waiver on prevailing wage requirements will help move the project forward, allowing construction to begin after the site is cleaned. Targeted drilling for water sampling is scheduled for October 7, with demolition and remediation to follow. Construction is expected to take around 14 months.
