Connecticut is expanding access to child care and early education programs, benefiting more families and lowering costs. Starting January 1, 2025, family fees for the Care 4 Kids program will be capped at 7% of household income, down from 10%, saving families about $200 per month. Additionally, as of October 1, 2024, families can remain in Care 4 Kids until their income reaches 85% of the state median, up from 65%, preventing families from losing benefits due to pay increases. The state is also adding 1,500 Care 4 Kids slots and 900 new early education spaces.
