Danbury officials are considering selling part of a traffic island at the dangerous Triangle Street, Coalpit Hill, and South Street intersection. The move is part of a $12 million state-led plan to improve safety and traffic flow in the area, which has seen 49 crashes in the last decade. The redesign would realign roads, add turn lanes, and relocate the island. A public hearing on the sale will be held on October 21.
