Danbury Getting State Money For Stone Bridge Repairs

Danbury is set to receive a $500,000 state grant to rebuild and extend the historic stone bridge over Mercers Pond Brook on Franklin Street Extension. The funding comes after a truck damaged the bridge, which is currently marked by concrete barriers and hazard signs. The State Bond Commission will consider the funding approval on October 22 in Hartford. Additionally, two other projects totaling nearly $1.2 million for community center and arts hub improvements are also on the agenda.
