A New Milford woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for child sex crimes. 41 year old Sara Anne Simonelli… also known as Sara Byxbee… pleaded guilty to several charges, including first-degree sexual assault of a minor. Her sentence includes a 50-year prison term suspended after 20 years, followed by 20 years of probation. Simonelli is also required to register with the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. It comes follows the sentencing of her co-defendant, Michael Almeida, who received 18 years behind bars for similar offenses.
