Ridgefield Restaurant Demolition Plans Meet With Opposition

Plans to demolish the Red Rooster Pub in Ridgefield and replace it with a 20-unit apartment complex are sparking controversy. The proposal includes 10 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom units, with six designated as affordable housing. However, opponents argue that tearing down the popular restaurant, which has been part of the community since 2016, would detract from Ridgefield’s small-town charm. Concerns include overcrowding and traffic. The Inland Wetlands Board will discuss the application during a meeting this Thursday at Town Hall.
