The investigation into a fire that broke broke out at a home on Birchwood Road in Monroe late Friday night continues. The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department said a closed bedroom door helped stop the fire from spreading. Firefighters responded around 11 p.m., and within 90 minutes, the flames were under control.
