A Redding woman accused of neglecting dozens of goats, has been granted accelerated rehabilitation, allowing her a path to clear her criminal record. During a court hearing on Monday in Danbury, the judge outlined conditions for Nancy Burton’s two-year probation, which includes a ban on owning animals and compliance with animal safety laws. If Burton meets those conditions, the 65 counts of animal cruelty against her will be dismissed by February 2026. Burton’s case follows a 2021 incident where authorities found multiple dead goats on her property and seized 65 live ones.
