A Connecticut home care aide stands accused of exploiting her elderly client, who suffers from dementia. Police say 45-year-old Michelle Labowski stole the woman’s identity to open a credit card back in 2020, then racked up nearly $10,000 in charges on items ranging from camping gear to psychic readings. Labowski has now been arrested and charged with identity theft. Investigators say she linked herself as an authorized user on the card, which was later discovered by the victim’s family when payments went delinquent. Investigators say her claims of using the money for medical items couldn’t be verified.
