A 53-year-old Danbury man, David Coffey, has been arrested in connection with a 1989 kidnapping after new DNA technology led to a breakthrough. The case was revived last November when the victim, now in her 40s, requested updates. Coffey’s DNA, found in a national database from past felony convictions, matched key evidence. He has a violent history, having served over eight years for a 2013 Georgia shooting, and is currently held on $750,000 bond.
