A former city employee here in Connecticut, will spend two years in prison for a hit-and-run that nearly killed a teenager nearly two years ago. John Egan, who worked for the city of Waterbury, struck then-17-year-old Bryan Calle with his car on May 26, 2023 and fled the scene. Calle, now 19, remains in physical therapy to regain his ability to walk. Now, a judge has sentenced Egan to 10 years behind bars, suspending all but two, with five years of probation. Egan must also complete community service and have no contact with the Calle family.
