Ridgefield’s iconic Red Rooster Pub has closed its doors permanently. Staff say they were given less than 24 hours’ notice before the closure Sunday night. The site at 43 Danbury Road is slated for redevelopment into a three-story apartment building with 20 units. The proposal, already approved by the Inland Wetlands Board, still awaits Planning and Zoning Commission approval.
