A Wolcott man has been charged with sexual assault involving an underage girl after a Danbury police investigation. 21 year old Christian Mateo Jara-Gomez was arrested and now faces charges including illegal sexual contact and fourth-degree sexual assault. Police say the incidents occurred between 2021 and 2024 in Danbury and Bethel. The investigation began last June when the victim disclosed the alleged abuse to a doctor. Jara-Gomez has pleaded not guilty and is due in court on February 10.
