A Stamford man has been sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison for a string of bank robberies in Fairfield County. 52 year old Francesco Pensiero took part in three armed robberies in October 2020, threatening bank employees and stealing thousands in cash. In one case, he forced workers to lie on the floor before fleeing. Pensiero, who had a prior bank robbery conviction, pleaded guilty last year. His accomplice was also convicted.
