A new report from the National Federation of Independent Business shows 35% of small business owners struggled to fill job openings in January, unchanged from December. The biggest gaps were in transportation, construction, and manufacturing, with construction job openings up four points from last month. NFIB Connecticut Director Andy Markowski says businesses are working to raise wages but continue facing hiring challenges.
